So what is it that draws me to What Kate Did products? Well, the styling is out and out retro - beautiful fabrics, pretty colours and vintage style stitching - but the cut and shaping of a lot of their products is modern, which I like. The only style from their range that isn't really me is the Bullet Bra. The shape is just too pointy for my liking, but I know other What Katie Did fans that swear by them for the great retro silhouette they give. Here are some of my current favourites anyway:
The Jubilee bra - it has the modern underwired fit I like, with lovely vintage stitch detailing. And it's red…
For those of you who like a bit of animal print, then have a gander at the super glam Josephine bra, name after Josephine Baker
Gorgeous French knickers...
The Hollywood Camiknicker - an adorable playsuit combining 40's style French knickers with a cami top
And finally, the perfect, perfect swimsuit
Their January sale has just started, so go and take a look. You never know, you may be tempted to treat yourself to some New Year frillies! Enjoy! x
This post torments me because you have NO idea how much I love these bras. Never bought because I read they fit quite small (like a cup size small and a back size small) and none of the good ones seem to come in my size in light of how I'd want to size up. Can you confirm that the fit is small? That Josephine midline style is perfection, IMO. I love a vintage silhouette.
ReplyDeleteI think I have some idea how much you love them! The back sizes definitely run small,, I usually wear a size 32E bra and I have to go up to a 34E. The cup size seems to fit me fine and I've never needed to go up a size. Hope that helps. x
DeleteOh, and happy new year! So sorry to have started a comment by implying that you are the source of my torment! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'd be tormented too if those bras weren't in my size! x
DeleteGood info. I can do it if it's just a matter of going up a back size. Though lots of the really great bras don't seem to be in stock in the F. Have you seen this bra, btw: http://www.figleaves.com/uk/product/GO-8511/The-Retrolution-Half-Padded-D-G-Bra/?size=&colour=
DeleteI've wondered about it for quite a while. I loathe padding, as you know, but it appears to be only mildly, and half, padded with lots of seams (what gives the fit). I'm half considering it. Thoughts?
Dammit now you're tempting me! I really like it actually and it does only seem to be light padding. I think you should go for it and then let me have a full review! Who am I kidding, I've got my credit card in my hand as I type this....
DeleteDid you order?? I intend to but I have to wait a couple of weeks at this point. :-)
DeleteI did, I told you I had a weakness! Will email you with my review when it arrives. x
DeleteOh, I can't wait!
DeleteOhh temptations.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Jane :) I think I like the red Juniper bra the best.
ReplyDelete(P.S. I'm holding a giveaway at the moment if you fancy entering :) .)
That swimsuit is gorgeous. I'm going on holiday in May. Hmmmm.....
ReplyDeletePS You own 30 bras?!
ReplyDeleteAhem, more or less....! x
Deleteoohh, you enabler! love those bras. not that i need anything but if they are on sale... juniper is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI keep browsing this website so it was funny to see it come up on your blog. I am plotting shelling out for one of their corsets for my wedding as I have a vintage dress and it really needs a corset to get the shape and fit right. I would love to visit the shop first to make sure I get the right thing as they are pricey.
ReplyDeleteOoh, a corset under a vintage dress will give you an amazing shape. They also do waspies which cinch the waist in and are a much cheaper alternative than a corset. I'd DEFINITELY recommend visiting the shop for such an investment though, the staff there are uber helpful. Good luck with your wedding plans. X
DeleteI am a bit addicted to What Katie Did as well, my current favourite are their gold seamed tights, which I wear often, but I am craving a CC09 bra. Just not a lot of point until I slim back into all the nice undies I already own! Right, off to eat a carrot stick ;) Bethx
