They're taking over….

After a hectic few weeks making stock for my Xmas craft fairs, I think I'm almost there. I've made purses, mobile holders, lavenders bags, cushions, zipped pouches, 1950's half aprons, kid's wash bags and reversible shopping bags. But the item I'm most pleased with is my small army of tooth fairy cushions….

I thought they reminded me of something…..

As cute as they undoubtedly are, they were definitely taking over my sewing room, so I'll be quite pleased to see them go. Some were a repeat order for Rosy Rosie and the rest are for me to sell at my Xmas craft fairs.

After my fairs are over I'll hopefully have a bit more time to get back to dressmaking, yippee! My first fair is tomorrow, wish me luck!

  1. Jane, those are awesome! I wanted to thank you - you see my first craft fair ever is tomorrow and in getting ready for it I took advice you posted on your blog a while ago. Everything you wrote makes sense and it was good to hear it from a craft fair pro! Best wishes for a wonderful craft fair season and thanks again for the great advice.

  5. Good luck tomorrow...although I don't think you'll need it. How cute are those teeny pillows. I particularly love the Tintin fabric. Is it wrong I think that would make a cute dress?

  6. I have to share - every time I see tooth fairy pillows, I'm reminded of my sister when we were little. She was scared of the tooth fairy and would go into hysterics at the thought of having the pillow in our shared room. I'm sure my mom was thankful that it then went into the living room - where she wouldn't have to worry about sneaking around us in the dark!

  12. They're super cute Jane. How long did it take you to make them all?

    1. Not that long, it's actually much quicker to make them up in a giant batch and make them in stages. Bizarrely it's the tiny pocket that takes the longest time. Once the pieces are cut out I'd say about 15 minutes to make each one. I tend to sew them all then stuff them separately with the kids! x

    1. It's pretty special isn't it?! It's vintage fabric so not generally available I'm afraid. That's why I save it for tooth fair cushions, so I can make lots and lots of items from one piece. You're right, lots of little boys go all wide eyed when they see it (and grown men too actually!) x

    2. Well if you have any left after your craft fair my 7 year old is about to loose his first tooth (hanging on by a thread), so I would love to treat him to the tintin tooth fairy cushion :)
